Patrick Turner said that NATO will continue to support Ukraine in its struggle.

"Today, the people of Ukraine honor the memory of all those who gave their lives for the freedom of their country, and who continue to fight for its future as a sovereign, and independent state," Turner said.

He also added that NATO will continue to stand with Ukraine.

"We will continue to provide strong support to Ukraine in its struggle, and its irreversible path to NATO membership," he emphasized.

As a reminder, NATO has elected a new Secretary General—Mark Rutte. It has been announced when he will officially assume office.

Jens Stoltenberg, who is currently NATO Secretary General, also answered whether Ukraine could join the alliance with the occupied territories.
