Russians lied to "Azov" fighters about the terror in Olenivka
"Azov" fighter with the code name "Arn", who was released from Russian captivity, told how the Russians tried to convince him and other prisoners of war that it was Ukraine that allegedly carried out the terrorist attack in Olenivka. The occupiers tried to exert psychological pressure.
He said this during an interview with Marichka Padalko.
"Azov" fighters did not hear any news during captivity
"Arn" said that while they were being held captive, the occupiers did not give them any chance to get any news from Ukraine and the world. The Russians convinced them that Kharkiv and Kyiv had long been occupied by Russia, and that Russian passports were already being issued in western Ukraine.
He stated that none of the prisoners of war believed them, because they understood that if it were true, they would be treated completely differently, so they regarded such statements as psychological pressure and an attempt to destroy the personality and will of the Ukrainian prisoners of war.
The occupiers wanted to convince the "Azov" fighters that Ukraine had attacked Olenivka
"Arn" said that he was not in the barracks of Olenivka, where the mass execution of prisoners of war took place. However, he heard the explosion and the screams of people.
"I was not in those barracks, but I heard the explosion, I heard the screams of people. It simply cannot be described in words. If a person does not hear it firsthand, it cannot be described. When your comrades-in-arms are killed, who were simply insidiously blown up," he said.
Then the Russians tried to convince the defenders of Ukraine that there was shelling of its own positions by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and denied Russia's involvement.
"They tried to tell this in Olenivka, to brainwash, to break you in captivity. And then we were transferred to Taganrog," Arn said.
The other day, one of the released Ukrainian prisoners of war told new details about the terrorist attack in Olenivka. He stated that one of the prisoners of war saw suspicious actions of the Russians in the barracks on the eve of the terrorist attack.
It should be noted that the tragedy in Olenivka occurred on July 29, 2022 — then a powerful explosion occurred in the colony, where the Russians were holding Ukrainian prisoners of war.
