Drone attack on Ukraine — how many Shaheds were shot down

On the night of October 29, the Russian occupation army fired Shahed attack drones and a ballistic missile at Ukraine. Air defense was operating in eight regions.

This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The ministry said that from 10 p.m. on October 28 to the morning of October 29, Russians struck the city of Kryvyi Rih with an Iskander-M ballistic missile from Crimea and 48 Shahed attack UAVs and unidentified drones.

In addition, the Air Force noted that enemy aircraft were launching guided aerial bombs at the frontline territory in various directions around the clock.

"The air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine," the statement said.

Air defense was operating in eight regions, including:

  • Kyiv,
  • Cherkasy,
  • Vinnytsia,
  • Zhytomyr,
  • Khmelnytskyi,
  • Sumy,
  • Chernihiv,
  • Poltava.

 At the same time, the agency added that as of 09:00, 26 enemy UAVs were confirmed to have been shot down, 20 drones were lost locally, and one returned to Russia.

As reported, on the night of October 29, the occupiers launched a missile attack on the private sector in the Osnovianskyi district of Kharkiv. Civilians were killed as a result of the attack.

In addition, that night, Russians attacked the Kherson region. One of the shells hit a house in Stanislav, resulting in casualties, including children.
